Many people ask why the name Taliesin? Is it someone's last name? maybe a place? The word is actually Welsh and means "Shining Brow". The famous architect and iconoclast Frank Lloyd Wright used the word Taliesin to name his retreat and student workshop. We admire his views toward architecture. Always supremely original with a great sense of space and extremely demanding towards every detail. He also was very skillful in seamlessly integrating the exterior with interior. Wright was decades ahead of his time with many of his ideas in regards to the confluence of architecture and the environment. Many of these same ideas we try to foster in our own company.

Taliesin Construction is primarily a design/build remodeler. Our primary focus is on renovations in older houses located in established neighborhoods around Columbus. However, we have also been intimately involved in some very contemporary projects in both high rises downtown and houses out in the surrounding suburbs. We offer a wide range of services to our clients. From something on the smaller side like a bathroom remodel to an extensive renovation in a large historic house.

Taliesin has also worked with some of the most talented architects and designers in the area. Our goal is the realization of the designs with superior craftsmanship. We always hope to create the best remodeling experience possible for our clients.

Whether you are just starting out on a project or if you already have designs drawn up, Taliesin can help you through the entire project. Starting from some basic sketches to the very end of construction, we work to provide inspired design and the most accurate budget possible. We always write in our contracts the length of time for the project!

As with any type of relationship communication is the key. We constantly let our clients know the progress of the project and immediately of any necessary changes. Taliesin Construction always encourages questions and constant feedback from the people we work for. We realize every remodeling project is different. Some clients like to be intimately involved with even very minor details. Others have great confidence in the builder, designer, and architect and have has more of a hands-off approach. We enjoy working with both types of people.

We have exceedingly high standards for both our employees and our subcontractors. Taliesin has many long term relationships with some of the more talented people in Columbus and the surrounding area. We also encourage and promote ongoing training and education among our individuals in order that they keep up with today's constant change.

We offer on many of the major items (i.e. electrical, plumbing, structural...) of our projects a warranty of 4 years. Few if any remodelers or builders in the industry stand behind their products for such a long period of time. We feel confident in our craftsmanship to be able to offer such a long warranty. Most of the other items are still covered for a full three years from the completion date. This extensive warranty is just another way we try to stand apart from our competition.
